Creative Writing

Be the best Writer you can be!

by Stanley Fefferman

Stanley Fefferman is the founder of the popular Creative Writing Program at Atkinson College, York University, and the creator of this new Creative Writing Internet course for everyone. This learning opportunity will provide you with the instruction and encouragement you need to reach your full potential for creative writing.

The course is based on the philosophy of writing developed in the line of writers from Blake and Whitman, Pound and Eliot, W.C. Williams and Allen Ginsberg. The basic idea is that writing should be informed by the rhythms of speech. Formal style is less important than the natural rhythms of feeling that arise in speech. Recent theory and practice have shown that writing can find a great deal of support in certain practices derived from Eastern disciplines such as meditation and the martial arts. While these learning methods have become common in the dramatic, theatrical and dance related arts, it is an innovation to bring them into the learning of creative writing.

This comprehensive, three-month online course provides you with:
