Editors' Association of Canada Certification recognizes editors who have demonstrated a high level of knowledge and skill in their profession. The program consists of four tests: Proofreading, Copy Editing, and Structural and Stylistic Editing. (From 2006 to 2009, a different testing framework was used and the four tests offered were Elementary Knowledge of the Publishing Process, Proofreading, Copy Editing, and Structural and Stylistic Editing.)

Editors' Association of Canada has now adapted its certification program to reflect the revised Professional Editorial Standards (PES-2009) that came into effect on January 1, 2010.

Four new study guides based on PES-2009 are now available. They replace the old four-volume set.
